Dental care

Starting young and getting a routine is the easiest way to keep on top of your pet’s dental care. Did you know dogs, like humans need their teeth brushed!? Like humans dogs get plaque buildup which hardens and turns to tartar, this cannot be brushed away and needs scaled off by professional veterinary dental equipment under general anaesthetic.

To prevent use an enzymatic toothpaste specifically dog only! This helps break down the plaque, and bacteria, whilst the brushing method helps take away the plaque.

There are lots of other methods of dental care;

  • Dentisept – coats the teeth to prevent plaque sticking to the teeth.
  • Aquadent – a dental rise specifically designed for dogs to swallow, which is added to the pet’s water and rinses away bacteria.
  • Vegident – these chews are a natural, easily digestible and specifically formulated to scrape away plaque from the teeth and are low in calories.
  • Prescription Dental Diet – helping to break down plaque with every chew of every meal!
