Keep them healthy
You need to prevent parasites, not just treat them! The best way to do so is giving your pet a veterinary licenced product, which is prescribed by a vet after a health check. Shop bought parasite treatments routinely do not kill the full flea cycle, which is why the infestation does not stop.
Fleas
- 95% live in your home and only 5% are on your pet. This means treating the environment is just as important! Using Indorex spray treats a 4-bedroom house, killing eggs and larvae.
- The flea also carries tapeworm which means you need to give a wormer prescribed by a vet.
- Fleas can make the skin appear red, with scabs and dandruff. Fleas can bite humans too!

Ticks
- Ticks are often found in long grass, woodland, or moorland areas.
- Seen more often in the warmer months.
- Never remove a tick with tweezers! Aways remove with a tick hook, and twist the tick off to remove head which is buried in then skin.
- Leaving a tick can cause the dog to become unwell as they carry Lymes disease.
Worms
- Always use a veterinary prescribed wormer, these are licenced products. Shop bought wormers often don’t work or don’t cover all 5 worms.
- There are 5 types of worms – Tapeworms, Roundworms, Heartworms, Whipworms, Lungworms.
- Some worms can be passed to humans, therefore we highly recommend keeping up to date with routine worming of your dog.
